Board Certified Dental Anesthesiologist Kimchai Lowe DMD

  • Dr. Kimchai Lowe is your friendly dentist anesthesiologist and the heart behind Sunset Anesthesia! Raised in Buras, Louisiana, she followed her heart to Houston after Hurricane Katrina. She then completed her Bachelor of Science Health Science Studies at Baylor University, where she enjoyed being a Baylor Bear (Sic'em!). Her dental dreams led her to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where she received her DMD. She later completed her three year anesthesia residency in Chicago at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. In addition to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, she has worked at IMMC Dental Center, St. Bernard Hospital in southside Chicago, and Children's Wisconsin - one of the top pediatric hospitals in the nation. She received her board certification by the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology and is also affiliated with the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology.

    Beyond the Stethoscope: In her spare time, Dr. Lowe enjoys exploring new places, hiking and camping, cooking, and reading a good book. But most of all, she simply enjoys spending time with family, her better half and their four legged sidekick, Pepper.

  • Explore our Welcome Packet, carefully curated to guide you through our process. It contains essential information to help you understand our services and ensure a smooth collaboration. 

  • Upon reviewing the Welcome Packet, please complete and sign the acknowledgment form at the end. Ensure the signed form is emailed back to DrLowe@SunsetDMD.com to initiate the process. 

  • Request a site visit to assess your office's compatibility with our equipment. We will map out your space, address any queries your team may have, and ensure a seamless integration of our services. 

  • Identify potential candidates for anesthesia among your patients. Use our simple Patient Information Form to refer individuals for scheduling. Download your form on our website.

  • Once we receive the patient information we initiate a smooth process: 

    • schedule a video consultation with the patient

    • contact the patient's pediatrician or primary care provider for necessary medical history and clearances

    • coordinate  with all parties to schedule the anesthesia and dental procedure at a convenient time 

  • Rest assured, we handle all pre-anesthesia workup and financial aspects, ensuring a hassle-free experience for both your team and the patient.
